Things are looking up for Colton Haynes after his exit from Teen Wolf last year as his guest role on Arrow this season as Roy Harper, a character that in the comics eventually became Red Arrow/Arsenal, is now upped to a regular for the second season that comes this fall. While he’s had only a small role so far, the series got an early renewal from the network and is planning out that season with more room and is expanding its cast of characters overall.
Haynes was previously hopeful about expanding the role. “Having a younger character like Roy on the show could appeal to a wider audience — plus, his relationship with Thea is really blossoming. I’m very hopeful,” he said.
Haynes joins Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoak, as another supporting character in the series that’s getting a regular for Arrow’s second season.
