Having met Kokona while on their way down Mt. Takao, going along the more complicated route, things get a little more challenging as it goes since Hinata is a touch of a daredevil. At least in Aoi’s eyes and definitely from Kokona’s point of view with how she leaps along the rocks. But it’s the kind of really beautiful scene to watch as they progress down a really great area. Of course, the challenges really are small but it’s full of cute little bits that help to showcase the relationship between all of them in really nice ways. The exploration is a big part here and you really have to appreciate the way that everything is brought to life in a very serene and enticing way. The addition of a new friend, even just temporarily, brings something cute to the show since she has the potential to be a part of things more and helps to expand Aoi’s friends circle nicely..

In Summary:
With the Mt. Takao arc over, there’s a lot to like with what they did here. I liked the previous hike, simple as it was, but this one just ramps it up a bit in terms of presentation and quality of climb. Aoi and Hinata further their bonds along the trek and have fun with it and they do make sure they face some challenges as well, which is nice to see. It’s not fraught with danger or anything, but it gives them a little more to work with and it has them helping out a new friend, which just goes to say a lot about the girls themselves and their personalities. The series manages to do a lot in the short run time it has and it keeps you smiling the entire time.
