As February rolled along for the sales and rentals chart, the week of February 17th through the 23rd had a lot of new releases that ranked high. Not surprising is that the billion dollar plus release of Skyfall is holding onto the top spot, but it is a bit of a surprise to see the second season of Game of Thrones land in the third spot considering its price and fairly niche approach. Other new releases fill out well with Argo taking the number two spot and the surprisingly durable so far Downton Abbey Season 3 set, which is still charting a month after its release. The rental chart doesn’t deviate from the previous week much as the only new title to chart there, due to delays among some of the bigger name titles for exclusivity to sales, Sinister does fairly well but is weak compared to some other recent strong rental releases.
