What They Say
Yuuto, having accepted his duty as a demon slayer, is welcomed to a slayer roundtable at the home of the first-rank family, the Tsuchimikado. However, the demon slayers gathered there aren’t as welcoming to Himari. Claiming that Himari will prove to be a danger to Yuuto, they go on the offensive to draw out the bloodthirsty, evil beast that dwells within her soul. But they’re in for a surprise when…!?

Things have really changed for Yuuto now that he has decided to become a full-fledged demon slayer. Not only has he decided to kill Shuten-Douji and the Nine-tailed Fox, but now the other demon slayer clans have invited him to a meeting where he suspects they will acknowledge him as the head of his family.

The head of all the demon slayer families is Aiji of the Tsuchimikado clan, which holds all the demon slayer families together and basically acts as the general over all the factions of demon slayers. Not that there are that many demon slayers in today’s age, especially since half the families have died out completely. So, the rest of the demon slayers can’t be too choosy when it comes to deciding whether or not to accept a new demon slayer to the ranks. But not everything is warm and fuzzy; Aiji has something else on his agenda, something that doesn’t involve Yuuto.

Aiji and the shrine maiden Kasuri, the powerful head of the Kagamimori family, call Himari to a private meeting. Meanwhile, Yuuto is off joking around and having a good time with some other slayers, oblivious to what Himari is about to face. Aiji and Kasuri hate the idea that Yuuto is friends with a demon, and they plan on doing away with Himari once and for all. While Himari is strong, I really don’t see a way that she can defeat two very powerful demon slayers and escape unscathed.

While Shuten-Douji has been on the down low for the most part, the Nine-tailed Fox has been meddling with everything she can. She has tricked her way into Yuuto’s class president’s home and now that entire family treats the Nine-tailed Fox as a god and does her bidding, whether they want to or not. The Nine-tailed Fox could eat them if she wanted to, but she will probably try to use Yuuto’s friendship with his class president to her advantage.

In Summary
Definitely some interesting developments in this volume as the battle with Shuten-Douji and the Nine-tailed Fox get closer. Aside from the Nine-tailed Fox infiltrating the class president’s house and controlling the minds of that family, the reader gets a glimpse of Himari’s dark side. Himari is a demon, but she is also beholden to Yuuto and his clan, but can a leopard really change her spots? When Himari is attacked by two demon slayers, a part of her inner personality is able to break free. That part of her is so powerful and evil, that even the demon slayers attacking her on unsure if they can keep her contained. So this begs the question, can Himari keep that part of her under control forever? Will she snap some day and leave Yuuto with the decision of killing her or letting her kill him? Lots of questions about this aspect of the story.
