While it may be frustrating in some ways to have small things dripping out in terms of news, it’s fascinating to see director Bryan Singer so active on Twitter talking about X-Men: Days Of Future Past since it’s bypassing a lot of the usual studio fanfare. The latest from the director comes in the form of news that Peter Dinklage will be joining the film, though he doesn’t indicate in what role the actor will play. “Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!” Singer tweeted. Speculation runs that he might be playing Puck, part of the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight, which could be interesting if that’s something that Fox decides to pursue down the line.

Elsewhere, a new piece at the Hollywood Reporter has them talking to Hugh Jackman as he was recently signed on for the film – and this film only. While post-production is underway for The Wolverine, which is due out on July 18th of this year, he talked about the transition from that film to this one.  [I] first heard about it around October or November [2012]. I was literally finishing ‘The Wolverine’ and dreaming about lasagna, and about three weeks before the end, they told me.”  and “There was no way I was not going to be part of that.”

Comic Concept: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times: Relive the legendary first journey into the dystopian future of 2013 – where Sentinels stalk the Earth, and the X-Men are humanity’s only hope…until they die!
