The big presentation hit today in Japan for the upcoming release of Ghost in the Shell: Arise, and it’s definitely going to excite fans of the franchise. After two movies, plenty of TV series material and the direct to video film, this new series will be a four part OVA that will run in theaters for a limited time, starting on June 22nd. The first home video release will come on July 26th on both DVD and Blu-ray. The series will be a prequel, as confirmed by Tow Ubukata, which will give us a younger Motoko Kusanaga. The series will also be getting a mang aadaptation called GHost in the Shell: Arise – Sleepless Eye which will launch in Japan in March as part of Monthly Young Magazine and iwll be done by Takumi Oyama for artwork while the script will be handled by Junichi Fujisaku.
A number of images have been released at this stage via the official site as well as a trio of videos, two of which overlap, along with the production team involved in the four prat OVA series.
