After the sudden and surprising death of director David R. Ellis, the Kite live action project obviously was put into a bit of chaos. Nobody had said anything for a bit since it wasn’t the time or place, but a lot of elements were already put into play for the project and a decision had to be made. It turns out that the project is being taken over by South African director Ralph Ziman and things are continuing forward as Ellis had set them into place, with Samuel L. Jackson, India Eisley and Callan McAuliffe set to star in it. The feature was set to be filmed in Johannesburg and it was expected to begin filming in February and that’s largely expected to continue, though some allowances are obviously going to be made in regards to getting everything set up.

According to Samuel L. Jackson, “The zest and enthusiasm David Ellis had for this project led to my commitment to do it. That same commitment to David leads me to fulfill my obligation to see his dedication fulfilled.”

Anime Concept: She may be cute. She may be young. She may seem innocent and naive, but don’t be fooled. She’s a cold-blooded killer, and if you’re on the wrong side of the law, you may be her next target.

After being orphaned at a young age, her parents victims of a brutal double murder, Sawa was taken in by the detective assigned to her case. Not content to just watch as the imperfect justice system let more and more criminals go loose every day, he’s decided to train her to be his instrument of justice. After all, who’d suspect a pretty college student of being a deadly vigilante?
