‘Ghost In The Shell Arise’ Anime Series Set For 2013 Debut

Some franchises you just can’t keep down and some of those are ones that you’re quite glad about it happening. The latest one to get some new installment news is that of Ghost in the Shell, which according to Monthly Young Magazine, is set to announced that Ghost in the Shell Arise has gotten the green light to debut some time later in 2013. Details are beyond sketchy at the moment as to what it’ll be about but it’s been revealed that Kazuchika Kise will be the chief director while Tow Ubukata will be handling the script supervision and writing the series overall scripts.

Kise has an extensive career in anime, working most recently on Blood-C: The Last Dark and Eden of the East: Paradise Lost as animation director but he also as an extensive history with the Ghost in the Shell franchise, having served many roles in the three movies.  His career also extends back a ways to a lot of 80’s classics, such as Dirty Pair and Dominion Tank Police. While he’s served as animation director in many, many series and releases, he’s had only small areas where he’s served as the primary director.

Tow Ubukata has a smaller resume overall, but he’s gained a good bit of recognition in the last decade from his manga creations, such as Le Chevalier d’Eon to Mardock Scramble as well as being behind Heroic Age and most of the Fafner scripts.
