‘Mockingbird Lane’ Finally Gets Axed

Few pilots really get this kind of treatment and it’s pretty cruel in the end, but NBC has finally given up on the Mockingbird Lane reboot of The Munsters. Originally part of a development slate from a previous management team, the pilot was put into production in 2011 but took an age to come together with difficult casting and bringing on board Bryan Singer to direct the pilot. When the pilot was done, it was left in limbo as nobody seemingly cared for it and nobody was ready to be the booster for it and shepherd it out further. NBC took a mild chance by putting it on Halloween weekend to recoup some of the $10 million cost of the project, but its average ratings weren’t enough to get anyone behind it.

The shows creator and exec producer, Bryan Fuller, tweeted out the bad news last night. “I tweet with a heavy heart, NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.”
