Controversy continues to swirl among many over this adaptation (sorta remake) that takes the original material and deals with the Korean film done by Park Chan-wook back in 2003, but it progresses nonetheless. Distributor FilmDistrict has picked the date of October 11th, 2013 for the release and it’s apparently free of the competition at the moment as no other new films are landing that day. The Spike Lee film brings in Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley and Samuel L. Jackson to star based on the screenplay by Mark Protosevich.
Plot concept: It focuses on a man named Joe who is captured and imprisoned in a hotel room for over two decades with no understanding as to why. When he is suddenly released, he’s told that he has just four days to determine the reason for his imprisonment.
