Crunchyroll Adds ‘Gintama’ For Fall 2012 Anime Lineup

2 min read

Crunchyroll has made the next announcement in their fall anime simulcast slate, one that needed Sket Dance to be over with first. Starting next week on October 4th, Gintama will be back every Thursday at 6am ET thanks to TV Tokyo. The series had an initial run of just over two hundred episodes and then cam back for another batch, bringing it up to 252, before going off the air again. Now they’re ready for another run of episodes this fall as it works off of the manga by Hideaki Sorachi.

The series is set for simulcast access in North America, South America, Africa, Europe (except Andorra, Italy, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Vatican City), and the Middle East.

Plot Concept: The values of the city of Edo suddenly changed when the aliens, called Amanto, invaded. In a world where anything goes, from aliens to motorbikes and even electric trains, a man known as the last samurai clings to his unchanging spirit. His name is Gintoki Sakata, a.k.a. Odd Jobs Gin. He’s reckless and irresponsible, but somehow he does what needs to be done in his own subtle way. The lifestyles of Gin and his companions will make you laugh, make you cry, and warm your heart!
