Nintendo’s conference about the Wii U release has hit and the basics are getting out there, along with some titles that are making fans happy. The big details that people have been waiting on come down to the price and release dates.
On releases, the console is set for November 18th in the US, November 30th in Europe and December 8th in Japan. The US release is getting two models; the white model for $300 with 8GB of internal storage and the “deluxe set” for $350 which will be in black and have 32GB of internal storage. Both come with the Wii U console, a GamePad, HDMI cable, sensor bar, and AC adapter. The storage size is kind of an odd piece since there’s room for USB expansion, making the actual size itself not too much of an issue at the moment. But for the $300 price tag compared to other consoles from the previous generation with far more storage, it’s a curious choice, but one that fits into Nintendo’s slim at all costs mentality.
People also got a look at the TVii aspect of the console, which you can check out more about at Engadget with pictures here, but again feels like a piece where Nintendo is straying from what has made them generally popular.
Will you be preordering the console, especially if you remember the hype of how things went with the Wii before? Are there games you’re keen on?
