Originally in theaters in Japan in December of 2001, the Sakura Wars: The Movie is finally getting a high definition release there. The feature, released in the US from Geneon Entertainment back near the end of 2003, is part of a lot of material that the franchise spawned over the years. The film was done by Production I.G. under the direction of Mitsuru Hongo and will be released on January 25th, 2013 in both a regular edition and a regular edition.
