‘Star Wars’ Prequels Get 3D Release Date Set

1 min read

After landing with a relative thud in the eyes of many back in February of this year, Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace brought in Bout $43 million in its 3D run domestically and just under $60 million through the rest of the world while it was out. At the time, nothing was said about the other two features in the prequel trilogy but it was expected that even if the films didn’t do huge overall, it was worth it for brand reinforcement and ancillary sales by a large degree.  Now word has come out from Lucasfilm that Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith will both be heading to theaters in 3D form as well. Unlike the first film, there won’t be much of a wait though a the second feature will land on September 20th, 2013 in 3D and the third will arrive a month later on October 11th, 2013.

Obviously no word on the original trilogy at this point, though that’s the one that it seems like most fans are eager to see brought back to the big screen even if it’s in 3D.
