With the series largely having found its groove and working the characters well as we now have a good understanding of how they operate together, it’s time for things to get shaken up just a little bit. Ryousuke and Lisara have managed to work together fairly well at this point and it’s something that has added her a good bit overall. He’s an amusing character in a way because of his perverted nature, a man after my own heart, so seeing how he charges his batteries in a way and prepares for things to come is comical to watch, especially with the other girls watching him while trying to understand him a bit more.

With the hunt on, the first half of the episode focuses on the training and work that Ryousuke is going through and the investigation that Lisara herself is working. It has its moments that work pretty well, but it’s when the second half kicks off that it’s a bit more fun since we do get to see that the pair of them are at their best when working together. Of course, the critter that has come out to play knows this and is going for a different approach, but it all comes down to lot sof decent action as those involved just go all out. For Ryousuke, a lot of what he’s doing is trying to apply his training because he doesn’t want to be the weak link in the partnership anymore.

There’s a lot to like with the action here as it gets underway and Ryousuke mans up and Lsiara has a lot of wardrobe malfunctions. Both of them are pretty solid throughout this and it’s engaging to see Ryousuke be more than just the wimpy sidekick that gets into trouble or clumsily ends up saving Lisara during a key moment. Both of them have a lot going for them, even when dealing with a giant purple tentacle monster, and it works well to unlock Ryousuke’s potential. Something that Lisara wasn’t even aware that he really had when you get down to it. He’s had his positives for her, but here he takes it a whole level further. And some of her outfit with him.

In Summary:
While the show hasn’t turned a corner, it is giving us a more dynamic pairing with the leads and what they can accomplish. I can’t imagine Lisara being totally gung-ho for it, but she can bring in some good bits with him in how they spar verbally and grate on each other a bit while appreciating what each brings to the table. The second half does a good job with the action where even though it takes up almost the entire half of the episode, it doesn’t feel forced or dragged out, but rather an exploration of what Ryousuke has been working so hard to accomplish and struggles to get out. And like past episodes, it once again makes me wish for the uncensored version because that’s what I likes.
