One of the more intriguing movies that will be coming down the road is the October 26th, 2012 release from Warner Bros. Pictures, who don’t seem to once again understand the purpose of trailers is for them to be shown far and wide to attract audiences. Every instance of this online via YouTube has gotten a takedown notice in short order, barely lasting a couple of minutes. What has made it online is a copy over at Deadline that runs nearly six minutes that shows what the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer are coming up with for the adaptation starring:
Tom Hanks Halle Berry Jim Broadbent Hugo Weaving Jim Sturgess Doona Bae Ben Whishaw James D’Arcy Zhou Xun Keith David David Gyasi Susan Sarandon Hugh Grant |
Novel Plot Concept: A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation — the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other’s echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small.
