Fox Grabs ‘Ruin’ Rights, Sees Franchise Potential

2 min read

Sometimes small projects can turn much larger as we see here with Fox as they’ve grabbed the rights to Ruin, a potential franchiser based off of the animated short you can see below that came from Wes Ball and T.S. Nowlin. Wes Ball may not be a known name to many, but he’s the kind of person who works in Hollywood doing things as graphic work for Blu-ray and DVD featurettes and builds up a portfolio of work that can be shown with some skill. The short has a good look at what he has in mind for direction and style as well as the overall concept that certainly can be fleshed out in a huge wy as it deals with a post-apocalyptic world. Definitely hang out for the halfway mark to see the tunnel chase where it has a very intriguing sense of style about it. Ball is being set to direct it and to flesh out the screenplay with Nowlin while McG and Steve Tzirlin are set to produce.

Plot concept: RUIN – An animated short set in a post-apocalyptic universe. It’s an introduction to a much larger project in the works.
