While the studio is clamming up at the moment, the reports are coming out that Philip Seymour Hoffman is being offered the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in the second installment of the Hunger Games four film series with Catching Fire. Hoffman would be joining all the actors that survived who will be reprising their roles along with new director Francis Lawrence who came on board after Gary Ross departed following the strong showing of the first film. The feature just crossed the $400 million mark domestically and has hit $650 million worldwide.
The character is a key one for the second novel and has a larger role as the work goes on, making it a solid casting choice and one that fans of the book will be wrapping their head around to adjust their mental vision of. You can read spoilers about the character here.
