‘Zetsuen No Tempest’ Manga Getting Anime Adaptation

2 min read

Some series are so good that nobody knows about them, or at least that’s how it feels. News surfaced out of Japan today that the 2009 manga series Zetsuen no Tempest will be getting an anime adaptation in the future, according to the cover of the newest Monthly Shonen GanGan magazine. The series has a few volumes under its belt, the sixth of which is just about to be released in Japan, and comes from the team of Kyo Shirodaira and Arihide Sato with artwork by Ren Saizaki. Kyo Shirodaira isn’t exactly a household name, but he had a burst of fame in the US a few years back when FUNimation acquired Spiral for an anime release and Yen Press began releasing the manga. This series, however, has almost no real presence on most of the top level anime news sites or even Wikipedia about the Japanese release, though it certainly sounds intriguing. No production date is set at the moment nor which studio and team will be handling the adaptation.

Plot Concept: In order to take revenge on the criminal that killed his younger sister, a guy named Mahiro makes a pact with a sorceress blessed by the Origin Tree, but banished by her family. Turns out he also needs to save the world, and ends up entangling his friend Yoshino as well.
