With the quick and dirty understanding of Nen out of the way, Gon and Killua have made it formally to the 200’s and it’s a whole other world of luxury and comfort. And they have the time to enjoy it as well based on the way challenges go. But the pair aren’t interested in just hanging around and loafing. They want to get their training and fundraising going on and have jumped right into the matches with Gon going up against Gido, a rather good opponent for this particular level but not one who has moved up beyond. There’s something to be said for doing just enough to stay on this level where you don’t face the harsher opponents further up and just deal with those surprised by what’s involved here.

With the addition of weapons, it’s a very different match as well and Gido uses it to his advantage with the spinning tops of sorts that he has that are infused with Nen power. Watching the match unfold is a lot of fun as it goes on and Gido reveals more of what he can do which in turn throws Gon off because every time he thinks he’s got it figured out, it goes badly again for him. Even Killua really rails into him later on after the match is over and he took some seriously hard hits that’s going to take some time for him to recover from. The cleaner look we get at the fight between Gon and Gido is definitely well done sa it really points out jus thow good he is with his natural skill, but it also shows that he’s not infallible which continues to be one of the better points of the series when it comes to all of them.

The episode also spends some down time between Killua and Wing as Wing does his best to get Killua to understand just how difficult of a path they travel with how they’re using the Nen. Wing has done things to try and tamp down what Gon is doing, but it’s the more personal one on one between Killua and Wing that shows how Wing is intent on making sure Gon doesn’t go over the top with his newfound abilities. But as we see with Gon and his way of communing with nature, he’s able to tap into that with the Nen as well which lets him work his healing and abilities in a far greater fashion, something that even Killua is a little impressed by but not surprised. And it provides ideal time for them to do some self training in order to handle what is yet to come.

In Summary:
Hunter x Hunter spends a lot of expected time with Gon and Killua here as they brave the floors 200 and above and it’s definitely interesting to see how it all unfolds with the lowest of the lowest there. It’s a challenge that will help to refine their abilities and get them to think more while dealing with far more varied problems. But the show also finally gives us a look at Kurapika is up to since everyone went their separate ways. It’s not exactly clean living for him where he is as there’s danger to be had, but you have to expect that while Gon and Killua are getting their training on that the others will expand their skill sets as well for when they do finally come back together. Provided Kurapika survives this new experience he’s getting into.
