The July 3rd reboot of The Amazing Spider-Man certainly had its work cut out for it from the start but it slowly made inroads with some of what Marc Webb has been doing and then the first trailer hit, which helped to sway a good chunk of opinion. While fans aren’t keen on another reboot, there is something going on here that with each new bit seems to propel it forward more. Sony has launched the second used trailer, which at the moment you can see at Apple Trailers, that’s dated as US Trailer 2 on 5/3/2012, in which we get a lot of new footage. Check it out.
Personally, the first trailer helped sway me a lot. This trailer has sold me on it completely. The humor (not as far out as the new cartoon to be sure) hits all the right notes. it has a big, glossy and flashy look that New York City should have from his perspective up on high. Andrew Garfield seems to have captured a very good part of the Peter Parker character. And it also looks like that while we may get something of an origin story here, it’s going to go further beyond that. It has a feel of a Spider-man with some experience to him rather than a full on discovery of his powers and trying to cope with that. It’s likely to be a good part of it, but it also has a more polished feel to it with an updated feel.
Plot concept: Like most teenagers his age, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret his father held…a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story. On July 3rd, 2012, the untold story begins.
