After the first film was the biggest thing that Lionsgate had put out (at least until Hunger Games), it was a no brainer that Expendables 2 was on the way. The question for a lot of it was could they assemble a good enough cast and would Schwarzenegger do more than just a cameo now that he’s out of political office. Thankfully, the August 17th, 2012 film has a really strong cast to it with Simon West directing based on the story by Stallone himself. And it’ll feature Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The first full trailer has landed and looks to capture a whole lot of the magic of the first.
Plot Concept: After taking a seemingly simple job for Mr. Church (Bruce Willis), the Expendables find their plans going awry and one of their own is brutally murdered by rival mercenary Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme). The Expendables set out into hostile territory — with their new members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) — to put a stop to a deadly weapon and gain their revenge against the villain who killed their brother.
