First ‘Looper’ Trailer Debuts

2 min read

Rian Johnson isn’t a household name when it comes to directors, but he’s gained a lot of interest with the first two films he’s worked on with Brick and The Brothers Bloom. With the September 28th release of Looper, it’s expected he’ll gain a bit more attention with a genre style film involving several very well known actors, from Bruce Willis to Joseph Gordon-Levitt as well as Emily Blunt and Jeff Daniels. Make it a story involving time travel and you get a little extra juice. The feature is also being released at a similar time to a few other Bruce Willis movies from the last few years that proved to have a lot of legs to it, with RED and Surrogates, as that time of the year often has little in the way of genre films. Check out the trailer below.

Plot Concept: In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
