Crunchyroll has added an interesting new series to its 2012 spring simulcast line-up by announcing Yurumates. The series will begin simulcasting on Friday, April 6th at 1:30 PM going forward for its run. The show comes from studio C2C after a pair of OVAs that were released in the last couple of years. The show is based off of the one-shot manga that was done way back in 2005 but has been running ever since. Crunchyroll has worldwide rights outside of Japan for this series, making it very accessible.
Plot concept: The story follows Yurume, an 18-year-old high school graduate who has yet to be accepted into college. In an effort to study for exams, she moves to Maison du Wish, an apartment complex on the outskirts of Tokyo which is full of other out-of-school “rōnin.” Maybe that has something to do with the rumor about Maison du Wish: no one who lives there passes the entrance exam.
