Nathan Fillion Cast In ‘Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea Of Monsters’

While most people wrote off the first Percy Jackson movie as it underperformed in the US, the feature did well enough to net $226 million worldwide and to slowly draw things together for another outing, albeit one that’s going to be with a slimmed down budget is expected. The original film was budgeted at $95 million, but it made some very good money on home video, raking in $37 million with sales wit hover two million copies moved and not counting broadcast rights and pay per view. With the second movie, Sea of Monsters, having gotten the greenlight to go and a release date of March 27th, 2013, casting is underway for some of the supporting roles as the main young cast is expected to return.

The first main casting comes with Nathan Fillion, who will play the role of Hermes in the feature being directed by Thor Freudenthal. Fillion is replacing Dylan Neal who portrayed the character in The Lightning Thief. Production is expected to start filming next month.
