CBS Sets Fifteen Series Renewals For Fall Season

2 min read

Fall renewals have been very slow in coming as this time last year pretty much every network had laid out its returning shows by early February if not earlier for some. That made the pilot season a bit more interesting early on as you knew how many slots were opening up. CBS has let loose today with its list of fifteen returning series, two of which are part of an extended renewal from last year, so people can tell what’s coming back in the fall. What’s left to hear about are the bubble series, ones with ratings versus value issues that CBS has to deal with when it comes to the big decision, which will be partly influenced by the potential strength of their pilots that come in for new series. Those include Unforgettable, A Gifted Man, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York and Rules of Engagement.

  1. 2 Broke Girls
  2. Mike & Molly
  3. Person of Interest
  4. Hawaii Five-0
  5. Blue Bloods
  6. The Good Wife
  7. NCIS
  8. NCIS: LA
  9. Criminal Minds
  10. CSI
  11. The Mentalist
  12. How I Met Your Mother (multiyear previously set)
  13. The Big Bang Theory (multiyear previously set)
  14. The Amazing Race
  15. Undercover Boss

Notably missing and a source of discussion the last few days at Paleyfest is Two and a Half Men, which is listed as being in “preliminary discussions” since Ashton Kutcher was set to a single year deal. Generally it seems like everyone wants to do more, but the way of the world has the money men wrangling over things.

With all the series coming back, the folks at CBS are definitely crowing about the strength of their line-up overall. “This large-scale renewal is testimony to the strength, stability and success of a deep and diverse roster of top-rated programming,” said CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler. “It positions us for continued success next season and certainly creates an environment that will give our new shows the best possible chance to succeed.”
