We’ve had some casting for the ABC incarnation of Beauty and the Beast over the last couple of weeks but with the male cast being rounded out, it was inevitable that the female lead would come quickly as the filming begins and they need the right chemistry. Enter Ruth Bradley, who has taken on the role of Grace. The Irish actress will be playing up against Darius Campebell as the beast, who is Scottish himself. Bradley’s role of Grace has her playing an embattled princess who discovers she shares a connection with the beast named Shiro, a mercenary bodyguard. Yves Simoneau is directing the ABC Studios pilot from a script by Jon Steinberg. The series is expected to complement the breakout hit of Once Upon a Time as the Disney owned ABC bolsters it’s magical Sunday night lineup, which is typically more family friendly.
