‘Snow Piercer’ SF Film Adds More To Its Cast

2 min read

One movie that has been fairly under the radar for science fiction fans is due to hit in 2013 with Bong Joon-ho’s Snow Piercer. The feature has a pretty intriguing cast already with Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton said to headline with Jamie Bell, John Hurt and newly minted Academy Award Winner Octavia Spencer in it as well. The latest to join the cast is that of Ewan Bremner of Trainspotting fame. He’s set to play “a father who joins forces with Evans’ character to save his kidnapped son.”

The film is currently in pre-production stages and it’s being produced by Chan Wook-Park and Dooho Choi. Kelly Masterson wrote the most recent draft for this adaptation of the 1970s French graphic novel Le Transperceneige.

Plot Concept: The film takes place during a new Ice Age on Earth which was the result of a failed experiment to stop global warming. All life on the planet was wiped out except for the few inhabitants of a train called Snow Piercer. A revolt ignites aboard the train as a result of a forming class system, and we follow the various passengers involved.
