The Last Airbender: LEgend of Korra

Fans have been dealing with a generally small amount of new material for quite awhile when it comes to The Legend of Korra series, the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. We’ve had some stills, some concept design work and a few teases that were quickly taken down. But now that the show is inching closer to broadcast, a new promotional trailer/commercial has been released that shows off the voice cast, the connection to the original series and how it’ll go with its humor and action. Fans of the original are likely to be pretty enthused about this and it should be a new gateway show to more animated material for people as the marketing machine ramps up.

Plot Concept: The new series takes place 70 years after the events of “The Last Airbender” and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang – a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra. With three of the four elements under her belt (Earth, Water, and Fire), Korra seeks to master the final element, Air. Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern “Avatar” world, Republic City – a metropolis that is fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang’s son, Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large.
