We first talked about The Raid back in September when the trailer first debuted overseas for this Indonesian film by Gareth Davies but now we’ve got a new American trailer for the film as being released by Sony Pictures Classic. Amusingly, it’s being given a subtitle to its name as it will be released here as The Raid: Redemption likely due to the 1954 film of the same name owned by 20th Century Fox. While naming may bother some, it doesn’t change the film itself and the trailer here does an excellent job of selling the premise and letting you know exactly what kind of film you’re going to get. The film is set for release in Indonesia in March of this year for its main theatrical run (last year was a film festival) and the film already has an Americanized remake in the works courtesy of Screen Gems.
