Mark Millar Says’ Kick-Ass 2′ To Shoot This Summer

2 min read

If there’s a creator to take with a bit of salt, it’s Mark Millar and his views on how things will go in Hollywood with his movies. While he’s had some real successes with both Kick-Ass and Wanted, getting more of them made has definitely been a chore. So when he says that the sequel to Kick-Ass will start shooting soon and it’s not come up anywhere else before that or confirming it afterwards, you have to just smile and nod. Speaking with Scotland’s Daily Report, Millar said, “We shoot Kick-Ass 2 andAmerican Jesus this summer. Then Matthew and I have Secret Service, which is a neddy James Bond.”

There’s definitely been interest from the cast on coming back for more, but the problem comes in that some of them are rather sought after. Chloe Moretz has been approached for a number of roles and has films out this year as well. Director Matthew Vaughn is likely to only return in a producer role as he’s gearing up for a sequel to X-Men: First Class. But as it stands, Millar indicates it’s going to shoot but nobody in the money side of the production has stated anything yet, especially as Lionsgate hasn’t made a peep about it in the midst of their acquisition of Summit Entertainment.
