Over the past week there’s been a new promo running out on the Disney channels, particularly Disney XD (which I see constantly with my kids, sue me) that has a good new dub promo for the February 17th release of The Secret World of Arrietty. While it’s obvious that Disney will advertise to Disney audiences, it’s also worth noting that it’s smart advertising because many parents watch with their kids. And just a bit of attention to this will have them realize that this is the anime adaptation of the Mary Norton novel The Borrowers and they suddenly become quite interested. Disney really needs to promote that aspect of it more, but they’re getting it out there bit by bit as the movie gets closer to release.
Plot concept: The story takes place in 2010 in Koganei, western Tokyo and like the novel revolves around a group of “tiny people” who are 10 cm tall and live under the floorboards of a typical human household.
