Star Wars Thursday: A Bounty For Boushh Edition

2 min read

Welcome to this week’s edition of Star Wars Thursday, a celebration of all things fun, wild, and wacky in the Star Wars universe!

It’s no secret that Leia is my personal hero. She’s strong, confident, and can take care of herself. Even when she first meets Luke and Han, who are attempting to rescue her from Darth Vader, her first response is to take over the rescue. So what does this amazing woman do when the man she loves is in danger? She puts on a disguise and goes after him, of course. Boushh the bounty hunter is her alter ego of choice. In her honor, this week is dedicated to “someone who loves you”.

Minnie Mouse has excellent taste in costumes. The image in the header is of a figure you can still buy, though it is from Star Wars Weekends in 2010. Click on the picture above to get to a site that will gladly sell you one. You will have to make your own thermal detonator.

Prefer your Boushh Leia with smaller ears and no tail? I’ve got you covered.

Are you not interested in playing with Boushh, but need to feel inspired by Leia’s bravery on a daily basis? Looking for a notebook you can use to help plan your next rescue mission? Look no further. The Vintage Star Wars Books Etsy site by Kevin Gawthrope sells notebooks created from vintage cardbacks of Star Wars figures. This particular gem is made from Boushh cardbacks from 1983-1984.You can even choose blank or lined paper to meet your notebook needs. (Yes, they do have other options besides Boushh.)

For those who would like to become Boushh – thereby announcing to the world just how courageous and sneaky you can be – I have two options.

The first option is comfortable, easy, and inexpensive. You know you want it.

The second option is for the truly dedicated bounty hunter. This site – goldenarmor.com – sells a kit to make your own helmet, plus includes a video tutorial. The helmet kit, with the leather included, is yours for a bargain price of $389.99. Oh, and then you have to put it together. I think I’ll stick with the shirt.

“Where am I?”
“Jabba’s palace”
“Who are you?”
“Someone who loves you”

Star Wars is a place where we can all find heroes and role models. Life is good. Until next week – May the Force be with you.
