‘Thor 2’ Gets New Screenwriter

1 min read

The November 2013 release of Thor 2 has definitely been an up and down affair this year but things have gone for another swing recently after director Alan Taylor came on board. With the creative differences side being an issue cited by former director Patty Jenkins regarding why she left the production, it’s not a surprise that Marvel Studios is bringing in someone new to rewrite the Don Payne penned script. Taylor will now be working with Marvel on the feature with Robert Rodat, who is best known for his work on the screenplay for Saving Private Ryan. He’s less known as the creator behind the TNT series Falling Skies, which does admittedly kill some of the enthusiasm on the rewrite duties. Rodat’s been around for awhile as he wrote The Comrades of Summer (1992), Tall Tale (1995), Fly Away Home with Vince McKewin (1996), and The Patriot (2000). In recent years, his work involved the 2008 film 10,000 BC and this past summer it was revealed he was working on a screenplay for a big picture adaptation of Warcraft.
