1 min read

In the realm of unsurprising news, Crunchyroll has announced a new simulcast series pickup this afternoon that will begin on January 2nd at 1pm ET with the fourth season of Natsume Yujincho, a show that’s still surprising that it hasn’t gotten a pickup yet considering its length and solid fanbase. The series has had all previous seasons simulcast on Crunchyroll and the fourth entry will be available to audiences in North America, South America, Central America, Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Portugal, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Turkey.

Plot concept: Takashi Natsume has been able to see youkai, Japanese spirits, his whole life. He inherited a book of youkai names from his grandmother, Reiko. These names give their owner power over the youkai, so he and his self-proclaimed bodyguard “Nyanko-sensei” spend their days returning them to their original owners. As Natsume finally finds a place where he feels welcome, he meets and says goodbye to new Youkai….
