Crunchyroll Starts Setting Winter 2012 Anime Simulcast Schedule

2 min read

With this week being the “down” week between seasons, with some shows finishing up and others taking a break, it’s also the time when simulcast services start to make their announcements for what the next season will bring. Crunchyroll is second out of the gate here in talking about the Winter 2012 season as they’ve announced their continuing series that will return in January and lined up a good block of “To Be Announced” titles as well. As we’ve seen in the past though, there’s always the potential for more to be added down the line so it’s not like things are 100% concrete that they’ll only be adding twelve new shows. It could be more, it could be less. And as we’ve seen before, some of the shows could show up on multiple services as well.

First, Crunchyroll has announced what their returning series will be for the Winter 2012 anime season:

Beyond that, there are some interesting shows that could hit this season. We do believe that Natsume Yuujin-chou Shi‘s new season is a given as well as Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, both of which kick off next week. With the previous seasons having been simulcast on the service, it would make sense to try and build more of a following with new seasons. Especially since neither show has gotten a US home video pickup either. Crunchyroll is the defacto place to see the series.

What series are hitting this winter? Here’s what’s been listed so far according to this discussion thread. Which ones will show up on Crunchyroll, of course, remain to be seen:
