Another promotional video has surfaced for a new Winter 2012 series that will debut on January 7th with Bodacious Space Pirates, which is the name being used for the animation adaptation of the light novel series Miniskirt Space Pirates. The light novel series began in 2008 and has run for six volumes so far under writer Yuichi Sasamoto. The new series is being animated by Satelight with Tetsuo Sato directing. Sasamoto is known to old school anime fans as the co-writer for Venus Wars. Plot Concept: Marika Kato is a high school girl living a rather ordinary life, until she learns that her recently deceased father was a space pirate and, according to the rules, must inherit his place as captain of the spaceship Bentenmaru.
