‘Legend Of Korra’ Opening Credits For ‘Avatar: Last Airbender’ Sequel TV Series Revealed

2 min read

Though there’s no firm date, the sequel series to the 2005-2008 run of Avatar: The Last Airbender is expected to hit sometime mid-2012 and we’re getting a new look at the production this weekend through the surfacing of what appears to be a legit version of the opening credits to the series. At the moment, it’s slated to run two seasons of thirteen episodes each on Nickelodeon, but that’s the extent of the broadcast plans. There’s extensive material on what the series will be like and the characters themselves, but you’ll have to hit up Wikipedia to be spoiled for it.

Plot concept: The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang — a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra. With three of the four elements under her belt (Earth, Water, and Fire), Korra seeks to master the final element, Air. Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern “Avatar” world, Republic City, a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart.
