Halloween Aftermath

2 min read

Well, that was fun!

For those not aware, the area of the country I’m in, the Northeast, just got pummeled with a very, very rare October snow storm. I can’t recall it ever happening in my life time where there’d be snow on Halloween, but it happened. And a good amount depending on where you were. Go another 30 miles west and it went from six inches of snow to twenty-two to thirty-two inches of snow! What made this storm worse for us, because we usually do handle these totals, is that the leaves were still on the trees. And that meant when it rained, froze and then snowed, it all piled on and we had far, far more tree damage than we did during Hurricane Irene earlier this summer. We lost our TV and Internet on Saturday night and the last few days even our 3G service was abysmal due to cell towers in the area being either overloaded or simply caught up in the problems as well. So we haven’t been able to work on things since Saturday afternoon, though we had a few pre-loaded items for Monday that went up and put up a few things this afternoon as we get back on track.

Our plan at this point is to catch up on news and simulcasts on Wednesday while hitting a few things here and there as you saw today. We’ve got a ton of email to work through as well, so please hit us up again if you sent something but didn’t hear back in the next day or two at best. Thanks for all the kind thoughts sent out to us on Twitter and we’re eager to get things hopping again.

(and for the record, I mowed the lawn Saturday, raked up some leaves and then shoveled a bit later that night. That’s New England for you!)
