The release of the Sailor Moon books have definitely helps to firm up Kodansha’s position and caught the eye of those that may not have even been aware that they were putting out books. With the characters and title being one that goes back a number of years now, it’s one that’s getting some solid placement in (remaining) book stores and that can catch the younger fan who has now grown up by surprise and generate some impulse purchases. Kodansha does well this week by also grabbing the #3 spot with the latest volume of Negima!. Beyond that, it’s another Viz Media fest with the properties that have been doing well for them for many, many volumes now. Yen Press also slides in a title this week in its first week of release with adaptation of the James Patterson work Witch and Wizard, as drawn by Svetlana Chmakova.

  2. Codename: Sailor V Vol. #1 (Kodansha)
  3. Negima! Vol. #31 (Kodansha)
  4. Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. #26 (Viz Media)
  5. Naruto Vol. #52 (Viz Media)
