Same-Day Digital DC Comics & Comixology Report For September 7th, 2011

2 min read

After the launch of Justice League #1 last week, expectations are all over the map for what this week brings to the new DC Universe relaunch. While that book primarily focused on two characters and touched on two others, this week sees the release of a number of other first issues that will greatly expand on the shared universe that’s being reworked. There are some key issues here such as the relaunch of Detective Comics and Action Comics which take the two big iconic figures and works to modernize them, but there are some other titles that are getting a lot of attention as well that need to be noted. While Action Comics selling out at the distribution level is no surprise, the fact that Batgirl has is and there will likely be others. The dark side of the DC Universe gets its first issues here with the highly anticipated Swamp Thing and Animal Man and the Edge side gets its due as well with what may be the dark horse big series with Stormwatch. All signs point to that series as being the one that will tie a lot of things together as the new universe comes together and may catch some folks by surprise.

Our pull list, digital same day of course, is pretty solid this week as we’re nabbing Action Comics, Animal Man, Batgirl, Green Arrow, Justice League International, OMAC, Stormwatch and Swmap Thing, but we’ll readily admit we may dip our toes into one or two others as well as Hawk and Dove are longtime favorite characters from the last time Rob Liefeld worked on them and the whole Man of War series sound really, really neat.

What’s on your DC Comics same-day digital pull list?
