We’ve still got almost two months until it’s released, but the first marketing trailer has arrived for the second season of Darker Than Black from FUNimation. The anime series builds on the first and this set also includes the OVAs in bilingual form with a DVD/BD combo pack and limited edition box set for the initial launch, providing a good bit of material. Sadly, the first season still isn’t available in Blu-ray yet even though the trailer for it in high definition has been available almost since the start of FUNimation releasing Blu-ray’s. The second season is due on October 18th, 2011 for a retail price of $64.98 in its limited edition form while a $59.98 regular edition will follow once it’s sold out.
Plot Concept: The intrigue and danger continue with a new charge for BK-201, the masked Contractor known as the Black Reaper.
After a paranormal phenomenon takes over Yin, BK-201 is left to hunt for answers from the shadows, alone—until he encounters Suo, a young girl whose life changed the night a meteor crashed to Earth. With Contractors attacking from all sides, and the mysterious organization Section 3 closing in, the Black Reaper fights to keep Suo alive while he searches for the truth behind Yin’s disappearance.
