Top Of The Video Game Charts For August 15th, 2011

2 min read

One of the downsides to how certain charts works, which in turn is based on buying habits, is how some titles can dominate week after week and you wish that there was a bit more change up in it like the DVD or box office charts. The latest listing to roll out for video game sales, covering the week of July 31st to August 6th, has arrived and the top two spots are once again dedicated to the NCAA Football 12 release on the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. Ho hum. After that, things change up just a little bit as we see Atlus having a very good week on the charts with both Bleach and Catherine hitting the #3 and #4 spots respectively via the PS3 but also seeing Catherine make a nod on the Xbox 360 as well coming in at #9 after all the buzz likely pushed some owners to try the title. Beyond that, there’s a whole lot of familiarity to be had here with the two Just Dance titles, Call of Duty and Halo: Reach. Nintendo continues to be left out of the party due to their overwhelming amount of shovelware that comes out, but they did get Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to make another dent in the chart.
