Sneak Peek ‘Tron: Uprising’ Trailer Arrives

2 min read

A new sneak peek trailer has landed for Tron: Uprising: in which it shows off a lot of model work and conceptual backgrounds and the like while mixing in some animation as well from a trailer we’d previously seen. The new series, which is set for ten episodes to be broadcast in the summer of 2012 on DisneyXD, has a pretty solid cast behind it with Elijah Wood, Bruce Boxleitner, Mandy Moore and Lance Henriksen taking part in what’s considered a “canon” story that bridges the two movies while offering up plenty of space for a lot more episodes should it succeed. It definitely as a distinctive look, using what we saw in the second feature but going its own road as well in a way that feels very natural for a CG animation series. Check out the clip below.

Plot concept: Beck is a young program who becomes the skillful leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron – the greatest warrior the Grid has ever come to know. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting, and light cycle skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but he will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful, strong leader. Destined to become the next Tron of the system, Beck adopts Tron’s persona and becomes the archenemy of General Tesler and his oppressive forces.
