‘Falling Skies’ Gets Second Season Nod

1 min read

It looks like things aren’t going so bad for Falling Skies as the series has been picked up for a second season of ten episodes come the summer of 2012, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The freshman summer series on TNT opened to strong ratings for the network with 5.9 million viewers, which is its biggest launch of the year, and has done well enough since then in the two key demographics it wants to hit, meriting the second season.

Falling Skies is a true standout series, from its ambitious storytelling, high-profile cast and production team to its phenomenal success when it comes to international and time-shifted viewing,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. “We’re reaching new audiences with Falling Skies and look forward to seeing where this fascinating and exciting series takes us next.”
