It has the word “neko” as part of its title, which means catgirls of some degree must be had. How can that not succeed in this market?
Nekogami Yaoyorozu is a new series from AIC PLUS+ due out this summer that adapts the manga series of the same name by FLIPFLOP’s. Supernatural comedies tend to do well and this one has been building for a bit with the manga starting back in 2007, though only three compiled volumes have been released so far, as well as several drama CDs (though those voice actresses didn’t make the cut for the animated version). The presumably short run series is being directed by Hiroaki Sakura who has an extensive credits list including Cromartie High School, Daa! Daa! Daa! and a bucketload of Di Gi Charat! shows. He’s working off of a script by Touko Machida who has been working on Battle Girls – Time Paradox recently as well as Lucky Star and Ramen Fighter Miki.
Plot summary: Koyama Yuzu is running an antique shop. Mayu, a cat god (nekogami), is living off Yuzu and leads an idle life playing games. Lots of other gods visit Mayu and enjoy merrymaking.
