Summer 2011 Anime Preview: Sacred Seven

2 min read

Sunrise has a new show hitting this summer that will run alongside another of theirs, Tiger & Bunny, which looks to have an interesting pedigree to it. Sacred Seven is landing in the way a lot of Sunrise shows do by having a new manga series run alongside it’s an original property that deals with, as the original taglines put it, “a new school battle action” series. The other tagline associated with the early promotional images was “People’s memories change the world!”

The staff behind it is what’s worth keeping an eye on as it’s being directed by Yoshimitsu Ohashi, who worked on Aquarian Age and Witchblade, based on a story by Shin Yoshida who had a hand in Karas. Of particular interest is that the character designs are being handled by Yuriko Chiba who did Planetes and Eiji Nakata, one of the men behind Eureka Seven. These are all based off original designs done by Mitsumi Inomata who goes all the way back to Windaria.
