Second Season Of ‘Squid Girl’ Gets Title

1 min read

Via ANN, the second season of Squid Girl has been titled and will be called Shinryaku!? Ika Musume in Japan when it airs this year. The first season, which was simulcast on Crunchyroll last fall, will feature the same actors behind it but has some change-ups when it comes to the actual production staff. The first season’s director is shifting to a “general director” role while Yasutaka Yamamoto of Valkyria Chronicles will be helming the new season. Beyond that, the same character designer and script supervisors will be returning for the season and the very attractive animation by Diomedea will be used once again.

Plot concept: The Aizawa sisters run the business at the sea “Lemon” where they serve beach goers. During their busiest hour, a strange girl appears before the younger sister Eiko. A hat with three points, wavy, water-colored hair, and a white one-piece suit. She calls herself Squid Girl and claims to be a messenger from the sea who’s come to subdue humanity. When Eiko tries to dismiss her ludicruous speech, she unleashes the wrath of Squid Girl.
