Vin Diesel has been talking about wanting to do another Riddick movie for awhile and fans have been holding out hope as things come together, and it appears that they have, albeit with a catch for Vin Diesel himself. In a pair of Facebook posting yesterday, he went on that they can make a “True R-Rated” Riddick film and can start shooting this summer for it, but he has to take a significant pay cut, one that had him at first saying he would basically have to work for free.

D T the writer/director just landed in New York with the good news. We can start filming this summer. However, there is a catch… in order for us to make a true R rated film, I must work for scale upfront. Not unlike the “Find me Guilty” experience (which I wouldn’t have changed for the world)…
Money is always second to art,… integrity and spirit… but the real issue is deeper. Can I suspend my life, to momentarily venture to that dark place… called Riddick.

Jeeze its bad enough that Hollywood wants to do nothing but remakes nowadays and now they want to be cheapskates too? I myself would actually be in line at the theater to see an R rated Riddick. I loved those movies. But as always the HOLLYWOOD SYSTEM wants to screw things up by counting pennies. After coming off the success of Fast five you would think that the movie studio would jump head first into making Riddick because the fan base is still there. Either the studio behind Riddick is really strapped for cash or they are just being plain stupid. You say money is next to art- then put your money where your mouth is and pay the man so everyone will be happy.
