‘Angel Beats’ Gets Sub/Dub June Anime Network Release Plan

2 min read

The Anime Network has sent out a pair of press releases that deals with the show Angel Beats today that will make fans pretty happy. The show is getting split two ways when it comes to the service, with the subtitled edition of the series appearing on The Anime Network Online player starting on June 2nd while the dub edition of it will appear on The Anime Network OnDemand service that you can get from your cable provider, providing the network is carried there. While it would be nice to let the dub fans who exist online (they do!) have access to the dub through the online service, it definitely makes sense to have the dub available for the more mainstream audience that might check it out via their cable provider.

The press release does not indicate whether the online version will be part of their pay level of service or free to everyone.

Plot summary: It sucks being dead. Sucks even more to be trapped in a surreal afterlife where you’re caught between the living and the dead—where a mysterious, violent Angel is trying to pull you over to…somewhere. What do you do? Well, if you’re this group of rough-and-tumble teens, you grab every weapon you can get your hands on and give Heaven hell! High-caliber action and locked-and-loaded comedy meet on a rock and roll battleground in Angel Beats!

Not interested in these options? Angel Beats will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in July.
